Is it right for me? Can anyone have this treatment?
PRP is well suited for most people, talk to your doctor to see if PRP is suitable for you
PRP is an autologous treatment, meaning that it is only your own cells being put back into your skin.
8-24ml of your blood is collected in a similar way to a blood test.
This is spun down in a centrifuge using the specially designed RegenLab PRP tube that separates the PRP from the red blood cells. The PRP portion of the tube is then drawn up into a syringe ready for re-injection into the skin.
A tiny quantity of platelet activator called Calcium Chloride may be added, which is found naturally in your blood.
Topical anaesthetic cream may be applied before injection, meaning re-injection causes little to no pain.
How often should I do a PRP Treatment?
This may vary depending on your skin condition, lifestyle and your expectations. 3 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart is normal. Once you and the doctor are happy with the results you can simply maintain the look with top-up treatments maybe every 12-24 months.
What can I expect following my PRP treatment?
Most patients go straight back to work after the procedure
- Injections can cause minor bruising and swelling
- Some patients may want to touch up the treated area with make-up before resuming their day
- Some patients report a tingling sensation after injection
When will I start to see results?
Typically first results are visible 2 weeks weeks after treatment and full results around 4 months after, as platelets stimulate the release of growth factors which assist in collagen regeneration. Increasing the collagen in your skin means over time your skin will appear rejuvenated, younger and fresher looking. Results will vary from one individual to the other.
How long do results last for?
Treatment results vary however in most patients the results last up to 18 months. Touch up treatments will maintain the results as well.
